TEAM 3DMJ SPONSORED ATHLETE - JASON BOSAK

Mineral Point, Wisconsin

Jason's Interview With 3DMJ on February 14, 2010

3DMJ: Please describe to everyone “A day in the life of Jason Bosak”.

JB: Well as with many people, it depends on the day. If you read my other interview, you will see I do not have split based on the days of the week, but rather a 10 day cycle. So off days come randomly.  My work schedule is not always consistent, and class schedules are not the same every day. However, many days look like this:

5:30-6:00 AM- Wake up, get ready for gym

6:00-7:30 AM- Go to gym for lifting

7:30-8:15 AM- Shower, change, pack food, get ready for school

8:15-8:50 AM- Commute to school

9:00-Noon- Class

Noon-1:00- Lunch and Studying (sometimes Britt comes to have coffee with me during this time or if I have cardio and have to work later, I’ll do that during this time)

1:00-4:00- Class

4:00-4:30- Commute Home

4:30-4:50- Get changed and get food ready for work

4:50-5:00- Walk to work

5:00-11:00 PM- Work

11:00-11:30 PM- finalize macros, unwind a bit, and get to bed!

3DMJ: We know you are one busy guy; with work, school, training, posing practice and other things that come up in daily life, how have you been able to handle such a full load?

JB: I’ve never really been a great planner, but man I’m getting practice now! I just have to be really good about figuring out where everything fits into my day. I have to prioritize certain things. If things are heavy in one class, I just have to give that precedence to other things and work around it. One thing I’ve been doing to keep me sane is having date night once a week, with my wife Britt. We take a night that we don’t work and we just do something fun together. It really does wonders after long stretches of not seeing each other except for in the gym and when we go to bed.

3DMJ: How has training, nutrition and cardio been going since you joined TEAM 3DMJ?

JB: Everything has been going great! 3DMJ has really helped me nail down the diet aspect of preparation, and I can visually see the changes each week!  I’m still feeling strong with my lifting, and intensity has been as high as ever! I’ve gotten really good about hitting my numbers right on the button, as far as macros are concerned. The only area that is not quite where I want it to be is cardio. As you can see from my schedule, I sometimes have other obligations and cardio ends up being lower on the list of priorities. I have been getting in most of my sessions, but I don’t always have time to hit the calorie burn I’m aiming for.  It’s just the one component I haven’t been able to be spot on with consistently.

3DMJ: How has TEAM 3DMJ helped you with your contest preparation?

JB: They helped me in so many ways! Firstly, they’ve really helped me nail down my diet. I’ve gotten so many tips on hitting my numbers and being consistent. The other area that has been a huge help is POSING! I’ve basically started from scratch, and Jeff has been an amazing help! I can see the improvements every week in my posing, and in turn that helps me see the improvements in my physique.

One of the biggest helps is just the general advice and support. I sometimes worry about things, or have questions as to why certain things are happening, and the guys are always very good about answering my questions and reassuring me.

   January 15, 2010       vs.       February 20, 2010

Jason has improved tremendously in the past 4 weeks in conditioning as well as his posing.

3DMJ: What do you feel were some of your weak points before TEAM 3DMJ and have they been able to assist you so far in correcting those weak points?

JB: A weak point was my method of measuring servings. I had been using volume as my primary measuring tactic, but after buying a digital scale and weighing everything out, I’ve seen how inconsistent I had been before 3DMJ!

3DMJ: In just a few short weeks you have made tremendous strides with your posing, what has been the biggest challenge for you with your posing?

JB: I feel like the biggest challenge is just finding out what is best for my body. Jeff has been great about this. To start, we have been getting my posing to sort of a standard form, and then from there, we have continued making tweaks based on the needs of my physique.

3DMJ: How are you feeling overall about your journey to the stage thus far and do you feel you will hit your best condition when show time comes on May 8th?

JB: Overall I’m feeling very good! I haven’t had a single week where I haven’t made progress. I am confident that I have the knowledge behind me, in Team 3DMJ, to keep that up until show day.
