TEAM 3DMJ TESTIMONIALS

Luis Burgos, WNBF Pro

Many argue that bodybuilding is an individual sport, but nothing could be further from the truth. At one point or another each and every person seeking to improve in this sport will have a training partner, posing instructor, diet consultant, or simply a friend or family member pushing him or her to go that extra mile at the gym or to stick with the long diet. Nine times out of ten it takes a dedicated support team to make a champion. Early during my prep I made what turned out to be a pivotal decision when I hired the coaches of 3DMuscleJourney to improve my initially non-existing posing skills for two of my shows: the INBF Northern California Classics and the NGA Mr./Ms. California Extravaganza. From day one I was impressed by the knowledge and passion demonstrated by Jeff, Eric, Alberto, and Brad not just with posing but with every other aspect of natural bodybuilding as well. Although my focus was mainly in posing, I noticed that each 3DMJ coach has a particular strength in their knowledge of this sport, and by working together they make a formidable coaching team whether your goal is to step on the stage for the first time or, if you are a seasoned competitor, to look for that extra edge when doing your pro show. During my first two contests, 3DMJ's presence backstage made all the difference in making sure I was at my best when I stepped on stage--from the expert application of Dream Tan by Eric and Alberto, to the encouraging pep talks from Brad, and to the last-minute posing tips from Jeff. In the end, TEAM 3DMJ played no small part in helping me attain my WNBF pro card at my first show and a second place at the NGA show's heavyweight division, whose winner, incidentally, was also a client of 3DMJ's! On a personal level, the coaches of 3DMJ have been very friendly, easy to work with, and willing to listen to any concerns during prep; and throughout the weeks I've worked with them, I'm glad to say I've made four very good friends. I have no complaints but one: these guys' coaching services are so top notch that in a few months I'm going to have to take a number when I get ready for my next show. To Jeff, Eric, Alberto, and Brad: thanks again for all your help before, during, and after my first two contests, and for making the journey so far such a memorable experience.

I’ve known Eric from the bodybuilding.com forums for some time before 3DMJ got started, and when he was competing and dieting for contests essentially year round. Through his fire to learn and disseminate that knowledge to others, and through the multitude of information and science-based posts he would make, I knew Eric was going places. This is to say nothing about the other fabulous member of 3DMJ, each of which I’ve had a chance to talk with and meet, and I’m happy to say I can call them my friends.

This is beside the point. Eric’s knowledge about bodybuilding, powerlifting, and human physiology enabled him to create an extremely solid program for me with enough variation to keep me guessing. The Westside program created and customized just for me led me to shatter my deadlift, squat, and bench press, and place third in the nation for a junior 198lb competitor. His turnaround for questions is extremely quick, which is important considering the necessary timeframe for these sports. If he didn’t know something, he would take all efforts to give a solid researched answer, instead of the “bro-science” you see other companies pulling. If Eric’s website hasn’t convinced you yet of your potential success in whatever endeavor you set your mind to, let a client speak for him. Eric’s program and guidance pushed me past boundaries I thought I’d never cross, and I’d gladly work with him again, and WILL for my next powerlifting contest.

COREY MAINIT

In 2007 I competed in my first ever bodybuilding show not knowing what to expect or how to prepare in order to maximize my potential and bring the best overall package. I showed up not only underdeveloped, (which is to be expected of a first timer) but also with poor conditioning and looking flatter than I had ever been during my 16 weeks of dieting.
In early 2009 while preparing for the OCB Mr. Maine, I approached Alberto Nunez to help me prepare. Alberto was extremely helpful in my quest to win the overall at this show. I would hit plateaus where my body became resistant to my fat loss efforts and Alberto would deliver a game plan which worked perfectly to help keep the fat loss consistent. If it wasn't for Alberto's key advice and help I would not have achieved the ripped, full look I brought to the stage that day which won me the overall title. I am in great debt to him. Not only did he provide me with the knowledge that helped me win one show, but he has given me tools to apply in show-preparation for years to come. I highly recommend his services to the lean looking to get even LEANER! Thanks a lot Alberto."

"I first met Berto in the gym while getting ready for my first competition season. He was working out with two mutual friends and was also In the middle of contest prep. We eventually competed in the INBF Capital City Championships at the same time and both won our respective classes and overall divisions. The difference between us was the aftermath.

I had been on a static high protein/low carb/low fat diet for 20 weeks. My body, unbeknownst to me, was a physiological disaster. After a tropical vacation and holidays that left me with instant weight gain. I sought out Berto for a nutritional makeover.

After a thorough consultation he prescribed a balanced diet and cardio plan that allowed my metabolism to recover and that allowed me to make incredible gains in the gym. He was always available to me when I had a question or concern. I felt comfortable and had complete faith that his recommendations would lead me to my goal for 2009. I started my contest prep in May, 20 weeks from my first WNBF competition. Berto always checked in for physical changes and was willing to talk and listen if I had something bothering me about my prep. He made changes weekly and even daily according to my progress.  I had energy and strength through my entire prep until the very end. Which, when compared to the previous year, was a vast improvement.

I was very happy with the results of my prep. I would not change anything. After the contest Berto did not leave me without a plan. He gave me guidelines to increase my calories back to pre-contest levels. Thanks to Berto I had a very satisfying competition season and am looking forward to the same, if not better, in 2011."

"I met Jeff several years ago at the Texas Shredder contest in Austin.  I talked to Jeff at that contest about dieting and I remember him telling me to keep it simple.  I knew that Jeff came into contests totally ripped, so I decided to email him for advice on the method of dieting I was trying for the OCB Arizona. Jeff got right back with me and became a support system for me throughout that contest prep. I have worked with other contest prep people in the past with great results and I have no problem recommending Jeff Alberts for contest preparation.  Jeff is very knowledgeable about contest preparation, contest posing, and is a great motivator. I know firsthand about Jeff’s skills because he was a great help for me during my last contest preparation."

BRETT FREEMAN

When I set off for my first show I had no clue what I was doing and luckily ran into Alberto Nunez, who at the time just finished off an amazing 2008 season with 3 pro cards. He was honestly someone I looked up to. My jaw dropped when he offered to run my contest prep, and I immediately took up the offer. I remained humble as ever, listening to everything he said to a “t”. The pros and cons of his service aren’t see-sawing in the comparison to most coaches. Alberto is literally “no BS”, cut to the chase, no “broscience” at all!

The day after I took him up on his offer I was emailed a game plan sheet that emphasized macro nutrients. Throughout the prep I didn’t once stray from his game plan and I hit my macronutrient goals without worrying about food choices (even if they were pop tarts, sugary cereals, etc,). I learned a whole load of knowledge regarding nutrition in the process. The positives of his service far outweigh the negatives as they're literally zilch. Anytime I was in need of an answer I'd shoot him an email and he would immediately reply with the answer. No BS, this was true for the entire course of the 4 months I worked with Alberto. I owe a lot to him as I doubt I would have come in as well conditioned without his help. I would have honestly bailed-out or been clueless as what to do on show day. The peak week process spoke a lot to his service. The night before the show we talked via phone regarding the game plan, which I notice many prep gurus struggle with these days and rely only on email. Thinking about it, the only negatives I can think of are how laid back he is on the phone LOL.

Summing it up, the service is phenomenal. Two thumbs up for Alberto."

ERIC OSMANSKI

"When I first decided to compete in June I had already been following Alberto through BodyBuilding.com for quite some time.  I knew the level of conditioning he brought to the stage, and I wanted to duplicate that.  When I first contacted him about my prep, I had many questions and concerns about the whole process of using a coach over the internet.  He made it clear from the beginning that the more I was involved, the more successful this journey would be.  In everything from that point on, Alberto exceeded my expectations!

Alberto initially sent me a nutrition plan personalized for me, with the flexibility to make my own choices. Throughout my prep Alberto’s positive personality and love for bodybuilding was evident.  He was always willing to answer any questions I had, keeping me on track when I thought things were otherwise. I always felt that he cared about me as a person over anything else. I have learned so much about myself and bodybuilding working with Alberto, and that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.  I could never reciprocate what Alberto has done for me."

PAUL KOLBUSZ

Alberto is a very knowledgeable yet humble individual. When I started prepping for my first show, the INBF Worlds, I had no clue he even did contest prep consulting. He was more than happy to give advice on his own accord. I hired him for the last 2 months of prep. It was definitely the BEST choice I have made regarding my bodybuilding career thus far. Berto doesn't just feed you fish; he teaches you how to fish. Despite my daily emails with questions and concerns, he was quick to respond and he put up with my calorie-deprived self. Berto did an amazing job at not only getting me leaner than I ever imagined for my first show, but he also helped me to come in looking full. I will be using him again for my 2011 natural pro card run. A huge thanks to you sir.
