TEAM 3DMJ COACH - JEFF ALBERTS

WNBF/NGA Pro

As a Lifetime Natural Bodybuilder and WNBF/NGA Pro Natural Bodybuilder I have been weight training for 23 years. I started weightlifting in 1986 during Physical Education class and from there I grew to love weightlifting. In 1990, I attended my first bodybuilding show, the Mr. Fremont Bodybuilding Championships and I was honored to witness well known natural bodybuilder Skip LaCour take home the title of Mr. Fremont. Former Mr. Universe, Ed Corney, was also the guest poser at that show and he was a motivating factor for me to enter the Mr. Fremont in 1993, which was my second competition. Watching Ed Corney, one of the greatest posers of all time, inspired me to model my posing style after him. With the support of my wife Jhanna, she encouraged me to enter my first show back in 1993 at the Modesto Bodybuilding Championships. After experiencing my first contest and making many rookie mistakes, I was hooked on the sport of bodybuilding. Since then, I have competed in 25 contests and my journey has been a long learning curve by using my own trial and error. In my early career of competition, I was naive and followed many other bodybuilders (mostly drug enhanced) misinformed knowledge when it came to bodybuilding preparation. I followed guru tactics by these same bodybuilders that would just lead to my poor contest condition. It wasn't until 2000, that I really began to question these tactics and to ask myself why I was not hitting my peak for competitions. I began to research the importance of nutrition and a sound training program. After educating myself with proper nutrition and training strategies, I began to use this newly acquired knowledge in my contest preparation. Only then, was I was able to maximize my potential with each successive competition. As the 2009 contest season comes to a close, I can proudly say, I have had my most successful season to date winning two pro cards and two class wins.

Now as part of the 3DMUSCLEJOURNEY coaching team, it is my goal to assist you in bringing your absolute best to the contest stage by using the knowledge and valuable experience I have gained over the last 16 years and 25 contests I have participated in.

"The fight is won or lost far away from the witnesses, behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road; long before I dance under those lights."
