Team 3DMJ Coach - Eric Helms

Pro Natural Bodybuilder, BS, CSCS, CPT, PES

Eric began his bodybuilding journey at six foot, 170lbs at the age of 21 in 2004. What originally began as a border-line destructive, unhealthy obsession, bodybuilding eventually transformed into a healthy life passion. Eric had fitness and athletic experience by the time he was bitten by the iron bug, yet nothing challenged him like bodybuilding. Fighting for every ounce of muscle, Eric continually strives to transform his physique into that of a champion natural bodybuilder and powerlifter.

Eric forges his physique through determination, desire, dedication, and a commitment to learning the intricate details of physiology, nutrition and exercise science.

Eric has been a trainer for nearly a decade. He began his training career in the Air Force as a facilitator, mentor and eventually commander of his unit's Physical Conditioning Staff. After completing his enlistment he became a Certified Personal Trainer and began his academic pursuit of knowledge. In addition to coaching bodybuilders and powerlifters, he has trained in gyms, private fitness studios, medical fitness studios, rehab and sports medicine clinics, the homes of clients and he has volunteered as a multi-sport strength and conditioning coach.

Eric is also an instructor at Bryan College, a faculty member of the Advanced Health and Fitness Trainer degree program. He loves to teach exercise science, nutrition, biomechanics, physiology and performance enhancement. He is currently pursuing his Master's Degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with a concentration in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention.

As a part of the 3DMuscleJourney coaching staff he acts as a coach for raw powerlifters, natural bodybuilders, and serious weight lifters of all walks of life.
