The Natural Movement Promoting 100% Natural Athletes November/December 2009
MIKE ESPARZA, 24, Grand Terrace, California, USA has been training for about three years. Mike's biggest accomplishments are very inspiring, "My biggest accomplishments would have to be training and encouraging others to achieve their goals. It feels great to accomplish my goals, but its a real blessing to help others accomplish theirs." 3DMUSCLEJOURNEY admires Mike for his candidness about his thoughts on training naturally. "I'm not going to lie, I, like many others, have considered using steroids or other enhancers. But in the end I decided that staying natural was the way to go for a few reasons: The obvious was the long term effects that could happen from steroid usage, why take he chance right. Another is that while so many people do take them, they're still illegal and I consider myself to be a law abiding citizen. The final deciding factor for me was, the challenge. It's a lot harder without drugs and I'm the kind of guy who loves to challenge myself. I love knowing that what I lift is all me. I put my sweat and blood into this sport and that's enough for me." Mike on his future goals, "When I return from Afghanistan in 2011, I plan to compete in some natural competitions, hopefully complete a full season. My goal is to finish in the top 3 in my weight class in 2011. In 2012 my goal is to win." Mike shares this advice for other natural athletes, "Bodybuilding is the greatest sport in the world because it's not just a sport, it's a way of life for your life."
