Promoting 100% Natural Athletes
Lucas Carr, 16, Turner, Oregon, USA
3DMJ: How long have you been training?
Lucas Carr: I have been training for a little over a year now!
3DMJ: List your accomplishments as a natural athlete.
Lucas Carr: Started as a skinny kid in high school at 128lbs. Was ready to make a lifestyle change and began to eat more and lift! I went from 128lbs to 177.4lbs which is what I currently weigh! Not only am I a lot bigger than I was at 128lbs but a lot more balanced and healthier.
3DMJ: What are future goals/contests?
Lucas Carr: My future goals are to get my bench max around 365lbs-405lbs by the end of 2013 summer. I also am competing in the 2013 NANBF Natural Muscle Mayhem! I plan in entering a power lifting competition around that time as well! Another goal of mine is to have fun with my prep for my contest in 2013 and enjoy the people I meet during my journey! Also to learn as much as possible as I progress into a competitive bodybuilder. You know what they say " Knowledge is Power". I plan on my physique to keep progressing and to keep bodybuilding as long as I can because its fun and I love doing it!
3DMJ: Describe why you have decided to train naturally.
Lucas Carr: Once I started progressing naturally I loved seeing the results I got. If I was using drugs it wouldn't be all me. It would defeat the feeling of achievement and satisfaction that I have when I accomplish a goal. Being natural is the way to go! You get to see what you're truly made of!
3DMJ: Any other information or advice you would like to share with other natural athletes.
Lucas Carr: Be consistent and never give up. Believe in yourself and your abilities! Also have some fun! After all, isn't that what it's all about? The more fun you have the more you will enjoy the sport and meet new people. Also, keep and leave your ego behind before you go to the gym! I learned that the hard way!
