"THE NATURAL MOVEMENT" PROMOTING 100% NATURAL ATHLETES September/October 2009
JASON LOEWY, 20, Coram, New York, USA has trained for six years and at only 20 years of age has already attained pro status with the IFPA. Jason has had a great start to his natural bodybuilding career thus far with an overall win at the 2009 OCB Natural Steel Championships where he received his IFPA Natural Pro Card, Heavyweight victories in the Novice and Open divisions at the 2009 OCB Mid Atlantic Classic and a teenage class win at the 2007 OCB Spirit of America. In a sport where performance enhancing drugs are so wide spread, Jason has chosen the natural route to build an incredible physique, "I stride to be the best I can be in every aspect of my life, bodybuilding included and what it takes drug wise to get to the top of untested bodybuilding disgusts me. I am not anti-steroid, but if I want to ever be near an elite bodybuilder which I do, I will push my body to its natural limits to achieve those goals." Jason's goal for the future, "Make the necessary improvements I need over the next 2 years before starting contest prep to get ready for my first pro show." We wish Jason luck in his pro debut and gauging by his terrific start in the sport, he should do really well. To contact Jason email him at JLFlexed@gmail.com
DYLAN KLEIN, 19, New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA has been seriously training for just over a year. With only one year of training under his belt, Dylan has already developed an awesome back, shoulders and arms. Dylan says his biggest accomplishment so far as a natural athlete is that he rebounded from an eating disorder and he has put on ten pounds of muscle in just over 2 years. Dylan's reason for training 100% naturally, "The temptations of steroids are so great in a sport that is fundamentally grounded upon extremes; extreme symmetry, size, proportion and conditioning. If it were easy to attain such feats of aestheticism more people would do it. Unfortunately some cheapen their accomplishments by using performance enhancing drugs and take away from the sport. I like to hold myself to a higher standard and reap the benefits of a hard working and dedicated lifestyle." Dylan's thoughts for other aspiring natural athletes, "Only those risking to go far will ever know how far they can go. Never second guess yourself, you'll regret it forever." We could not have said that any better! Dylan's future goals as a natural athlete, "To better myself as a person as well as an athlete. I hope to one day be able to inspire others just as I have been inspired. I also wish to one day step on stage and finish what I had started." With the progress Dylan has made with just one year of training and his positive attitude he is destined for a great future in the sport of natural bodybuilding! In his second year of traininng he worked very hard and turned those last place finishes into 1st place finishes! Mike's reason for deciding to train 100% naturally, "I got into this sport because I learned that you have to eat good to change your physique. I wanted to feel like I was doing more for myself, health wise." Mike's future goal for next contest season, "I am currently training for the 2010 Vancouver Natural show, then a couple weeks later the Emerald cup 2010 bantamweight division." Todd's advice for other athletes, "Have fun and live life to the fullest!" Todd has an outstanding attitude towards the natural lifestyle! To contact Todd email him at toddbz@sbcglobal.net

BELINDA BENN, 45, Panama City has built an incredible physique with only one year of training. With just one year of training Belinda has had tremendous success so far in the fitness industry. "On a personal level, it was representing South Australia in my age division at the 2003 Australian Open Surf Masters just 2 years after I started surfing. The physical and mental effort I had put in to get there was quite miraculous, considering I started from ground zero! For my fans, I know competing in my first figure competition at age 45 and placing 2nd overall was very inspiring. To other athletes, being selected by bodybuilding.com for the USA advertising campaign in Shape, Muscle and Fitness and Oxygen was an opportunity many would give their right arm for!" With such a late start to training, Belinda really focuses on remaining a lifetime natural athlete. "Starting to train for the first time at age 44 means my priority is to protect my health and increase my ability to remain fit and strong for years to come. I can't afford enhanced gains that will have long term health consequences." Belinda's future goals, "My goal for the rest of this year is to concentrate on building more muscle, improving my cardio fitness and staying moderately lean." FRANCO YACONELLI, 35, Los Angeles, Ca , USA has been training for the past 6-7 years as a natural athlete. Franco's take on his biggest accomplishment as a dedicated natural athlete, "Stayed drug free for all contests, continue to maintain drug free lifestyle. Came into contests in good condition, the placings are just icing on the cake." Franco's reason for staying true to the natural way of training is short but straight to the point. "I am being true to myself. I do not want to cheat by taking performance enhancing drugs." Franco's back is chiseled out of granite and he is an inspiration for others who are looking to follow in his footsteps. We asked Franco what his future goals and contests are? "I think I am retired at this point, but I wake up at 3:30 am or 4:00 am to work out, 4 - 5 days per week." Franco would like to share the following advice for other natural athletes. "Visualize your own success. During 2006 precontest, I began visualizing how I'd look on stage, before working out. This helped me in my training and focus."
