Where's the integrity?

Itegrity from the dictionary means - adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.
This is not what I am seeing from today's world of bodybuilding and sports (baseball in paticular). Today Manny Ramirez has been suspended for taking an illegal substance. This is not surprising but it is sad. The list continues to grow of ball players who are using performance enhancing drugs from Bonds, Canseco, Palmeiro, Alex Rodriguez, Manny Ramirez., etc. What is real anymore? Bodybuilding is also guilty of steroids and other drugs. I am a lifetime natural bodybuilder and have been training for 23 years and I know what real muscle is and what is enhanced. I want to know where the integrity has gone in our sports? How can these individuals look in the mirror and be truly happy with themselves? I am sure money and fame are a driving force behind this. I sincerely do not understand this. I write this not to judge anyone or to look down at an individual but to try and fully understand where our integrity has gone. Health issues are also a factor, with athletes as large as ever and looking inhuman more than ever. Oversized abdomens, facial muscles that are overly developed, and not to mention oversized craniums. These drugs are not only making muscles grow but the bones and organs as well. Bodybuilding magazines are promoting athletes who are not clean and they know it, but it seems they do not care because they are being paid. Supplement companies are doing the same by advertising with these athletes who they know are not clean, but still make claims their products got the athlete there size and physique. To the magazines and supplement companies "Where is your integrity?" I am not saying natural athletes are superior to non natural athletes because I know athletes who use drugs also train very hard. It is just sad when an athlete who wants to have fame and fortune has to use drugs to reach these goals. This is not sending the right signals to the youth. If you were a young athlete and you wanted to be at the top, taking drugs, sadly is the route they will have to travel on. If you are a natural athlete I congratulate you. If you are not, look in the mirror and ask yourself, "Where is my integrity?"

Welcome to my 3DMuscleJourney! As many of you know I created this website back in January '09 to journal my training leading up to the '09 INBF Capital City Championships. Since then the site has seen some incredible changes, including the formation of Team 3DMJ. I'm very proud of all the great changes to the site and it couldn't have been remotely possible without the help from all my teammates, family and friends! My 2011 contest season was a huge success with a few division titles and a trip to the IFPA Yorton Cup World Championships where I proudly finished 7th in a very competitive middleweight lineup. I'm officially in my offseason and you are more than welcome to follow along! jeffalberts@3dmusclejouney.com
