First off we have a new editor at 3DMUSCLEJOURNEY, his name is Paisano!

My cat and new editor, Paisano!

Last weekend my best friend Mike, flew in from Florida to spend the weekend with my wife and I. Mike has been in the Air Force for the past 18 1/2 years. This was his last visit before he heads out overseas for six months at the end of December. We have been best friends since the 5th grade and he has become a brother to my wife and I. We had a very short visit this past weekend but we did manage to do quite a bit in such a short time frame. We picked him up at the San Francisco airport at noon on Saturday. We then grabbed some lunch and headed over to the Golden Gate Bridge to do some sight seeing. Mike has some family ties to the city so he was extremely excited about seeing the bridge again.

After the bridge we headed over to San Rafael to take my wife's Grandma out to dinner. As usual when we take her Grandma out to eat it's italian, her favorite! It is always special when we see her because she has such a great personality and she is just simply fun to be around.

After we left Grandma's house we drove back home to the Central Valley and we were totally wiped out! We got back home close to midnight and we decided to call it a day. On Sunday Mike had to do some homework for his class, he is studying to get his Masters degree and I unfortunately decided to watch the Raider game. Yes, I am a Raiders fan, but they really suck right now! I watched them get spanked 44-7 by the Giants and Mike was doing a little trash talking as he is a 49er fan. My wife told him karma is going to get you! He said whatever! Well, we then watched the 49er game and sure enough karma got him, Falcons 45, 49ers 10.

Mike watching the Niners get whacked 45-10!

I fired up the bbq and grilled us some lean burgers and then we headed out to the mall to do some shopping. I am not a fan of the mall, but Mike had some gift cards to the Gap store and they do not have that store close to Mike where he lives in Florida. After our mall encounter we headed back home and watched some old videos from our high school days! We were laughing so hard we were rolling! We graduated back in 1990 and that was when we had our mullets! Don't laugh, that was cool back then! My wife had her poofy hair and her LA gears! She was looking good! We watched our wedding video from nearly 19 years ago and we had a lot of mixed emotions because it was really nice viewing it, but there were a lot of our family and friends that are not with us anymore. It was sad in that aspect, but it was also very nice to see them again on video. Watching that video while spending great quality time with my wife and Mike has given me a lot of renewed happiness that I really needed. We ended the weekend watching some funny videos on youtube, we laughed so hard, it was fun! It was an awesome visit and we will really miss Mike when he leaves overseas.

Monday rolled around and it was time to go back to work. This was my first day back from my San Diego vacation and it totally sucked. After a hard day at work, I was totally fatigued and I was not motivated to work out. I decided to skip my workout and make up for it the next day. I woke up Tuesday and I was feeling worse. I managed to get myself ready for work and I headed out the door. Half way into work I was not feeling good, I pulled off the highway, I called in sick and I turned around then headed back home. When I got home I fell asleep on the couch for two hours. I then just had a lazy day! I was not motivated and I just was feeling a little down. I think from the combination of staying up late on the weekend and missing the great time I just had over the weekend. I skipped my workout again and decided to take another day to rest.

On Wednesday I was feeling a lot better and I was ready to hit a great upper body workout. Here is a look at my workout.

I was definitely feeling better and recovered!

I manage to have a great workout even though I had a lot of pain. I am going to start taking glucosimine for my joints and I hope this will help with some of my pain. So far this off season I am doing fairly well and my weight is hovering around 190lbs. I will try and stay at that weight until January 2. Then it is time to get back in contest form! Anyways the weekend was tremendous, the beginning of the week was not good and now it has been a great recovery! I look forward to tomorrows leg workout, it should be brutally good! Until my next blog keep training hard and naturally!
