"The Crest Theatre" located in downtown Sacramento, Ca. On Saturday September 26, 2009, The Crest Theatre in downtown Sacramento, Ca was home to the WNBF Pro Natural US CUP and INBF West Coast Classic Bodybuilding Championships. The Crest is a majestic venue for bodybuilding and the atmosphere was truly pleasing to all the fans. The show was a huge success as there were first class pros and top notch amateurs presenting tremendous physiques. We have been following WNBF Pro Brad Loomis and INBF Champ Eric Helms' journeys for the past three weeks leading up to this contest. They both had very inspiring showings and both represented themselves very well. For Brad Loomis, this was his very first pro contest of his career and he landed in the heavyweight division. Eric Helms was gunning for his WNBF Pro card and he competed in the heavyweight division in the West Coast Classic. WNBF Pro Brad Loomis weighed in at a well conditioned 165 lbs. and just missed the lightweight class cut off of 163 lbs. Even though Brad was giving up 30-40 lbs. of weight to the bigger heavyweights he stood his ground and proved he belonged on the pro stage!
Brad Loomis, 2nd from the left, proving he belongs on the pro heavyweight stage! Brad was bigger than last year and he displayed great detail from the front. His chest resembled an anatomy chart with striations bursting everytime he hit his signature pose - the most muscular. Brad also had amazing color which highlighted his solid condition. Brad posed his heart out during the prejudging and stayed in contention for a top 5 placing.
Brad's striations look crazy in this most muscular at the prejudging.

Brad Loomis, far left, in the rear double biceps hitting it in stride! Brad's evening routine entertained and presented plenty of ripped muscle. Brad had improved his already awesome muscularity throughout the day and by the evening finals he displayed it in his posing routine.
Brad's routine was filled with entertaining posing, shredded muscle and confidence.
Rear Double Biceps and striated glutes!
Side "Super Striated" Chest.
One of Brad's signature poses!
We thought it needed a closer look! Unbeleivable!! Brad's first pro show ended up with a very rewarding 5th place finish in the heavyweight division. Brad showed courage, pride and the will to be your absolute best by training with 100% focus and intensity! Congratulations to Brad for his outstanding performance and expect more inspiring showings from Brad in the future. INBF Washington State Natural Light Heavyweight Champ Eric Helms was entering his 5th contest of the season and aiming to take the overall title and a WNBF Pro Card. After 37 weeks of preparation Eric was in the best shape of his life. Eric had great muscularity, balanced symmetry and one of the best posing routines of the night. Eric was in a battle for first place with Scott Kluth from Washington. Scott had more muscle on his frame than Eric, but Eric displayed sharper cuts. It was definitely a battle of apples vs. oranges! Both of them looked tremendous and either one of them would have been a worthy winner. The prejudging was tightly contested and it was definitely a nail biter!

Eric Helms, 2nd from the left, hitting a rear double biceps. After a couple of callouts from the judges it became clear Eric and Scott were the ones to beat. It was a very close contest between the two and the judges had their work cut out for them.
Eric Helms, far left, showing striated glutes, hanging hamstrings and a ripped upper body! While Scott Kluth, far right, displaying thick dense muscle!
Eric Helms, far left, hitting one of his best shots! Merry X-mas!! Scott Kluth definitely had thickness to spare! Eric entered the evening finals slighlty sharper and fuller than in the morning and it showed during his posing routine. Eric's posing routine was one of the best of the night and he dedicated his outstanding performance to his father. His routine highlighted electric dance moves, great muscle detail and great posing in which he received a towering amount of applause.
Front double biceps & a ripped delt pose!
One of Eric's stronger shots. Balanced and well conditioned.
Rear ripped double biceps!
This shot tells the story! After 37 weeks of preparation, Eric achieved what he set out to do, get shredded!!!
Hitting a most muscular with extreme confidence. Eric's journey ended with a very close 2nd place finish to Scott Kluth, who went on to win the overall title and a WNBF Pro Card. Eric's journey lasted 37 weeks and it consisted of determination, drive, dedication, willpower and hard work. His journey has inspired so many individuals and for that reason alone he is a true champion. Look for Eric to get his pro card in 2011, when he plans to take the stage once again! Other Highlighted Athletes WNBF Pro Angela Compilli was competing in her 1st pro show and she was one of the most ripped female bodybuilders there.
Angela presented an awesome physique in her pro debut. WNBF Pro Brenda Rahe took the women's overall title with a very symmetrical physique. Brenda also had awesome conditioning and posing presentation.
WNBF PRO BRENDA RAHE OVERALL WOMEN'S PRO US CUP CHAMPION
My brother, WNBF Pro Paul Alberts, was competing in his third pro show since turning pro back in 2006. He displayed a symmetrical, super shredded physique and was rewarded with a 4th place finish in the pro lightweight division.
Paul was one of the driest competitors on stage that night! WNBF Pro Shaun Clarida took home 1st place in the pro lightweight division with his incredible thickness and symmetry.
Shaun stands only 5'-2" but his thickness is just outstanding!
In the pro heavyweight division, Kurt Weidner took the pro heavyweight title and then went on to win the overall title against pro lightweight winner Shaun Clarida. Kurt has muscle on top of muscle and he presents a shredded physique which is almost unbeatable.
KURT WEIDNER "2009 WNBF PRO US CUP OVERALL CHAMPION" There were many more awesome athletes at the contest and they all deserve the credit for getting on that contest stage. 3DMUSCLEJOURNEY congratulates all the athletes for their dedication to the sport of natural bodybuilding. |
