Washington State Natural Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure Championships written & photos by Jeff Alberts On August 7, 2010 dedicated promoters Kevin and Denise James held their 5th annual NANBF Washington State Natural Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure Championships at the Brynes Performing Arts Center in Arlington, Washington. As a former competitor of this same competition last year, I can honestly say Kevin and Denise put on a first class show for the athletes and the audience alike. Over 70 outstanding natural athletes took to the stage and demonstrated incredible physiques in this inspiring event. All of the contestants are all champions in their own right and it was a perfect exhibition of natural bodybuilding at its finest. (video from Moji Oluwa's youtube channel) In the women’s open division former figure contestant, Arlene Lurey presented flawless shape in route to her second place finish as a first time bodybuilding competitor. In the end, the most intriguing part of the night was the intense battle that ensued in the men’s open division that captivated the nervous crowd. Pose after pose, the three division winners, John Stockwell, Luke Ehlis and Sekona Taufa displayed awesome musculature while battling it out. All three men were worthy champions, but in the end it was Luke Ehlis who stood out with his superior conditioning and muscle mass.
